Swamiyee Saranam Ayyappa
The "New Nallakunta Ayyappa Seva Sangham" was started in Hyderabad, India in the year 1980 under the able leadership of Sri Paturi Srirama Sarma guru swamy who led the group until 1992 and passed the leadership to Sri T.Shankerram Guruswamy. Sri Shankerram Guruswamy has been organizing the Sabarimala yatra with about 200 swamis every year since 1992 for Makara Vilakku Darsanam. Personally, Guruswamy has been visiting Sabarimala for the past 33 years and is blessed by Lord Ayyappa with spiritual power and 'Vakshuddi'. He has been given Mantradeeksha of Lord Ayyappa, Lakshmi Ganapati, Siva Panchakshari, Bala, Chandi, Shodashi, Mahapaduka etc by Sri R. VenuMadhava Sarma garu with whose guidance Guruswamy received the blessings of the Lord.
Ayyappa deeksha period is from 16th November until 9th january every year. During this period, the Nallakunta Ayyappa Seva Sangham performs Ganapathi Homam, mahanyasa Poorvaka Ekadasa Rudrabhisekham, Rudra Homam, Laksha kumkumarchana to Godess Sri lalita Devi, Chandi Homam, Mandala Puja, Lakshapushparchana etc. All the above pujas are performed in a very traditional way without compromise.
In 1998, the Sangham performed the first Koti Bhasmarchana puja to Lord Ayyappa which is the chanting of Ayyappa namam 1 crore times. this puja is the rarest of its kind and was never performed by anyone before in India. This puja has been a big boom to Loka Kalyanam and the well being of our group. 200 kg of Bhasmam (Vibhooti) was used and 150 swamis performed the puja for 9 days. On the 10th day, the puja was concluded with Purnahuti Homam. Lord Ayyappa blessed all the people who directly or indirectly participated in the puja and fulfilled their wishes.
After 12 years, In the year 2010 ,we are planning to perform Koti Bhasmarchana puja for the second time. The tentative dates for this puja are from Dec 1 2010 to Dec 10 2010. Given the amount of arrangements to be made and things to be procured for this rare puja, we are estimating an expenditure of Rs 7 lac to Rs 8 lac. Hence it is our humble request to all the devotees to donate liberally for the noble cause.
